Favorite Video Friday (Saturday Edition) – SimplicityFiled Under: Favorite Video Friday
This week I decided to take a break from all the fancy editing and camera tricks.
Christina Aguilera – The Voice Within
I don’t care if she’s bubblegum pop, she’s still got an amazing voice, and this video is simply beautiful.
Lykke Li – Tonight
Dig that sound.
Sinead O’Connor – Nothing Compares 2U
This video is a classic, and probably the start of all this stripped down simplicity.

I'm no fan of bubblegum pop either, but Christina really kills it with a few songs. (My personal favorite is “Fighter.”) I had never seen the video before, though … thanks for sharing! It really is beautiful in its simplicity. Just bought “The Voice Within” on iTunes. (You should stick some iTunes affiliate links on your blog!)

That's an excellent idea! I never thought about it before. I think I'll add some links right now. Thanks, Marina!

Nothing Compares 2U is written by Prince. Just thought I'd make sure that the internet world that stops by here knows that. You can find a live recording of him performing it with Rosie Gaines on his Greatest Hits album and Rave Un2 the Year 2000 DVD.

I had no idea. Steven, your Prince knowledge astounds me. I must find video evidence… to the YouTubes!

Well well, the You Tubes eh? Well, I'm sorry to say that you probably won't have much luck with anything published by Prince being on YouTube. I discovered this the other day. He sued them for allowing people to post his copyrighted material. I couldn't find ANYthing by him on there. Nothing good anyway.
