This Week in Movies – 10/20/08

In Theaters:

  • High School Musical 3: Senior Year – Will somebody PLEASE think of the children?!!!
  • Pride and Glory – Ed Norton and Colin Farrell in a cop thriller. I like Ed Norton, but I’m skeptical of this one.
  • Saw V – Just in time for Halloween, gratuitous violence.
  • Changeling – Angelina Jolie’s kid goes missing, the cops find him, but she says it’s not him. Clint Eastwood’s one of my favorite directors and he uses my favorite living Cinematographer, Tom Stern, so you know I’m gonna watch this one.
  • Synechdoche, New York – The directing debut of my favorite screenwriter, Charlie Kaufman, starring one of my favorite actors, Philip Seymour Hoffman. I may hitchhike to New York just to stand in line for this one.

On Video:

  • The Incredible Hulk – Ed Norton plays the Hulk this time as Marvel tries to make up for the last Hulk movie. This is a remake, not a sequel, and it’s supposed to be better than the last. I kind of liked the Ang Lee Hulk though, so you know I’m going to watch this one.
  • The Strangers – Liv Tyler lives in a haunted house. Good for her.
